Raised in Napa, California, I grew up touring and exploring on bikes with my family. When I moved to Durango, Colorado, this past-time soon developed into a serious love of mountain biking.

A high school English teacher by trade, I've also worked as an outdoor guide, an event planner and a dance teacher. However, coaching teenaged cyclists is where I get most enjoyment, so in 2004 I founded the Casa Grande High School Mountain Bike Team.

In 2010, I landed my dream job as the Executive Director of the NorCal High School  Cycling League.  But no sooner had I started, at age 35, than I was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer. After extensive treatment, today I’m ecstatic and proud to be cancer free, and enjoying life to the fullest.
